PM....

Its three pm and the sun is still out with some of the darker clouds from the feeder bands showing up. We are just chillin' right now. I decided not to tear down this computer until the weather gets bad.

I'm getting lots of pictures and my wind gust reading at 3pm was 12.5mph. The images from Galveston are amazing and an indication of what is to come.

Using the tune Breathe 2AM

Three pm and I'm sitting here writing this song, if I think about what's coming in I'll be gone, it's insane to sit here and think of those strong winds. Winds sustained 127 and its a cat three, quite strong and far from funny. And I sit here calming my worst fears.

"cuz you can't outrun Rita she's coming in fast. The storm is so huge don't know how long we'll last, Rita was five and now its a cat three, but it's still too strong for me.....silent scream, silent scream, silent scream...scream. "                 o.k. just taking some time to be silly :P

At sunset the sky starts to turn pink. I grabbed my camera and quickly ran outside. The sky was very dramatic with many colors of reds, oranges, and pinks.  A gentle rain started and the gusts were getting a bit stronger at about 25mph. That's when I saw the rainbow! A rainbow during an approaching hurricane!!! Wow!!! I was stuck at taking pictures from my house, as my car was secured in the garage for the duration of the storm. Still I got some pictures of the rainbow and sunset:) Too cool!!!

At 7:00 I told my sister to go ahead and take a shower before we lost power. Since we have well water, we need the energy to get the water into the house. At exactly 7:15pm the electricity went off. We were a bit confused why it was off because it was only lightly raining and breezy outside.

I took my computer apart at this point, yep waited till the last minute. I did this in the dark with the aid of a flashlight and glow sticks.

Then we moved into the family room to ride out the storm. The wind could be heard whipping around outside. I read a book by glow stick until sleep over took me. The lights blinked on for about 5 to 10 min and then we lost them again. Just before 11pm the electricity was back on for good:)

I slept on one of the couches in the family room, since my bedroom has large windows.
