RITA HOME

AM....

We look to be on the cleaner side of the storm. Fort Bend is expected to see winds up to 75mph.

Traffic is getting better out there. We have decided to ride out the storm here. Going to East Texas is not a good idea. They have a high frequency of tornadoes and it takes a long time to get things going again.

Currently the wind is calm to very light breeze occasionally. The sun is out and light cirrus clouds are in the air.

I'm about to tear down this computer to keep it safe. I'll post again as soon as power and the computer are back up and running.

We are concerned about my Aunt Marie and cousin Peggy who are in the direct path of the storm. Contacting anyone is madness as the cell phone lines are maxed out.

I've been thinking...the hurricane is coming in tonight. We know its headed this general direction. That's why people started evacuating as early as Wednesday. In 1900 the people of Galveston didn't know it was coming. They had only a few reports. The weather did not indicate anything coming, except the falling pressure and possibly cirrus clouds, like what we are seeing.
