I had seen a lunar eclipse a few years before and was without a good camera for the event. This time however, armed with a Minolta 400si SLR, I was ready for my first attempt at taking pictures of the event.

I had very little idea on what I was doing. I had just gotten my first SLR camera two years earlier and was still learning. I used the exposure settings that the camera suggested. I used a 300mm paired with a 2X. The following photographs were the result.

This having been my first time photographing the event, I was quite pleased with the results. I took these from the front yard of my parents (who I was still living with at the time). I got my photography interest from Daddy who recorded this event in some excellent video.
